Comments from Master Classes and Workshops:
"So thrilled I attended this very inspiring workshop! I so appreciated what Jarred Dunn had to share with us, and watching his approach with the two advanced piano students during the masterclass was very beneficial."

"Thank you for a fascinating dive into the development of piano pedagogy from essentially a musicology perspective. What made it relevant and memorable was you sharing your personal experiences...a fantastic afternoon of music."
Hannah Greiner, RMT

"Jarred Dunn is an articulate, imaginative and dynamic teacher. He encourages students to be an active listener, to experiment with sound and have a personal view of the music. During master classes, his demonstrations are convincing and students can learn interesting insights on how to improve their performance."
Borjana Hrelja, Director
Collegium Musicum Conservatory of Music
"Jarred Dunn is a pianist and master teacher of the highest calibre. His immense knowledge of the piano, musical history and personal experience with world class artists assures and inspires both students and teachers alike. Having attended Mr. Dunn's workshops (Taubman in Perspectives, Essential Chopin, Beethoven's Brain, Teacher Training Summer Workshop) and masterclasses, I find that he is able to quickly assess the general knowledge of his audience and quickly route the most productive/suitable goal for the class. All is done in an interactive manner. In the masterclasses, I am always impressed by his ability to not only address interpretation/technical/performance issues, but to most often fix them in minutes. Many times it takes him seconds to identify and solve major technical issues that burden teachers and students for months."
"This workshop was an amazing experience. I was a little skeptical at first but I realized to overcome my insecurities of performing I had to face them head on. What better way to do that than to perform in a room of teachers and under the direction of Jarred Dunn? Each day was a different activity and the week produced a lot of firsts for me: my first master class, duet, and being an unofficial examiner. The lecture on the teaching styles of Chopin and Liszt was very informative and it gave me the opportunity to compare their styles to my own. Not only is Jarred very knowledgable, but his approach to dialogue in his lectures keeps the listener intrigued throughout. During our final performances, we really saw how much within a week each participant improved and gain considerable confidence. The selection of pieces were absolutely beautiful and Jarred's final performance of the Beethoven Appassionata Sonata was a great way to conclude a captivating week."
"I have been teaching and taking piano lessons in community music schools in the Peel Region for over 10 years, and this course addresses why teachers need to regularly evaluate, refine, and evolve their teaching techniques in order maintain and sustain their teaching careers."
"The workshop exceeded my expectations in a number of ways. Jarred made the content interesting by engaging the group in various activities. My absolute favourite was how to stay focused during a piano performance while unexpected distractions were taking place in the background. Jarred is resourceful and has a deep understanding of piano technique and music analysis. He helped me improve my technique with phrase shaping and releasing tension from my hands. I am now incorporating these techniques when I'm teaching my students."
"My experience studying with Jarred Dunn has been enlightening. It has helped me to open my eyes and ears in a way I didn't realize was possible for me. I now look forward to practice sessions as a way to explore music, and notice the time flying by, rather than logging hours as a chore. I am able to listen more carefully to the music my students are making, instead of getting caught up in the notes. I think my students are benefitting from my lessons with him almost as much as I am! I am filled with fresh ideas and positive vibes after our lessons and am grateful to be able to pass this along."
